August is my fourth CD release, and my personal favorite to date. Written from memories of summers growing up out in the country and the inspiration of just being happy where you are in life, August is a solo piano journey through the summertime season. From the various directions and key changes in "The Distance", to the beautiful haunting ballads "I’ll Follow You" and "The Rain Came Down", this music beautifully and reflectively allows the listener to escape into the sights, sounds and emotions of summer. Consisting of 12 tracks at almost an hour in length, this CD combines my love of varying styles and textures of songs while emphasizing the very powerful emotion of the simplicity of solo piano. With that said, I think the liner notes best describe this album…
From the liner notes: I have always believed that song titles are just as important as the notes that are transformed into music. They tell the true story behind each creation, give the listener insight into the writer's world and provide a canvas with which to inevitably form their own visions and feelings. After completing this album it was difficult to find the words to describe what it means to me. This music is simply a gift that I am fortunate enough to be the creator of and no more words are really needed. Fireflies, sunsets and rain. Following the one you love and going the distance with them no matter what the twists and turns in the road. It all became music... it became August.
